研究所教材公開分享

我在研究所主要擔任的是「現代藝術史」、「藝術批評」和「美學」等三門課程。有鑑於國內一般學生很少有機會直接研讀相關領域重要作者的代表著作之第一手(原著)或第二手(原著翻譯)資料,只是滿足於第三、四手輾轉介紹,甚至道聽塗說的資料,難免陷於被誤導的危險當中,因此著手自行編輯重要作家之代表作的論文選集作為教材,每一篇都帶領學生研讀、討論。以目前各種學說五花八門,水準參差不齊的情況來看,學生們實際上沒有必要急著唸某一特定作家的專書,最好是先唸過他們的一些代表作之後,覺得興趣相近而且又有可信度和說服力,再去讀完整的著作都還來得及,以免一下子被先入為主的觀念洗腦而渾然不知,愈陷愈深,等到想要脫困已經非常困難了,要不然就是越唸越糊塗或有看沒有懂。重點是作為一個研究生,絕對不能人家重要的代表作一篇也不看或不曾看,一旦要寫論文了,儘是引述一些輾轉介紹和道聽塗說的訊息。雖然目前我這些文選集已經編到十幾本了,但是實際內容每年上課的時候都稍微有所調整,用意是希望能儘量不要漏掉任何重要的文章,也希望每一篇文章都能被收到最恰當的文集裡面。這些文章基本上是為研究所二年級的學生編纂的,同學們每學期選擇其中一本來研讀,不過每一班學生的進度不盡相同。
